HSN Code (Harmonized System Nomenclature code): Under GST laws, HSN code is used as the categorised every product those are involved in the business. It is basically adopted by most of the country in the world , which was introduced by World customs Organisation in 1988. In India HSN code is 6 digit and involved in all the products, which are categorized into 21 Sections & 99 Chapters.

Important - HSN code give advantages uniformly identify the every product, which is being imported or exported for collecting customs duties, Goods and Services Tax. In domestic businesses HSN code is used in return filling GST and invoices of the trade commodities. HSN code also used in case of importers & exporters to file customs documents such as Bill of Lading, Shipping Bill, etc. Basically in filling GST return, those product has involved in the purchase/sale of the business, their HSN code must be put in the return in order to identify the particular product.

  • SAC Code (Services Accounting Code) - Goods, services are also classified uniformly for recognition, measurement and taxation. Codes for services are known as Services accounting Code.

  • GST rate – GST rate basically fixed 5%, 12%,18% & 28% under GST laws. In some of the cases like Gold it has fixed at 3%. Apart from, there are some other several items which has no GST tax rate.
